Nelson Buddhist Centre

About Us

The Nelson Buddhist Centre (NBC), based near the centre of Nelson, New Zealand, was established in 2004 for the Nelson community.

Nelson Buddhist Centre is part of the Rigdzin Trust, a registered New Zealand Charity directed by Amnyi Trulchung Rinpoche.

The centre is under the guidance of Amnyi Trulchung Rinpoche, who teaches here regularly.

Senior students of Amnyi Trulchung Rinpoche provide courses in Buddhist philosophy and meditation for beginners and programmes for those wishing to explore the Buddhist path more deeply. Visiting speakers regularly offer instruction.

The Centre consists of a meditation hall, a library, a shop and a sitting room with tea making facilities. The library is available as a reference library for all visitors but books are only available for loan to members except by special arrangement.
